Lobsters

There are three main species of lobster, all of which are known for their gourmet taste. Lobster is a low-fat, low-calorie and low-cholesterol food. The lobster caught from the east coast is European lobster (Homarus gammarus).

To ensure that lobster fishing stays sustainable, all lobsters caught must meet the minimum carapace length size. Please see DEFRA's website for further information. http://www.defra.gov.uk

Whilst the size of the lobster caught off the east coast is 23-50cm and weighs from 0.7kg to 4kg, there have been recorded size's of lobster as big as 1.26M and weights of just over 18kg.
